The main starting hypothesis is that a decrease in NOx emission has important consequences which affect the whole atmospheric chemistry, having a significant influence on ozone levels and on the main tropospheric oxidants, OH and NO3 radicals. These modifications in the oxidative capacity have an effect on how the atmosphere is able to process other compounds and thus, it is relevant for the planning and programming definition of the integral improvement of air quality.
